My Vision (Overall Ticket): Become a more effective Unit Commissioner with a positive impact on the Council, District and Units I serve.

Goal: Help the troops I serve on the trail of being Scout lead.  Showing that Scouts can be trusted when given a task.  By using the Teach, Trust, Lead Method along with other skills learned from Wood Badge.  If the Scout fails it can be turned in to a learning opportunity.

Who (Relevant): Troop adult leadership, that believe that Scouts in the Troop are to young or cannot be trusted to run a meeting or handle the issues of other boys.

What (Attainable): Identify troops needing help.  Then assisting them with not only the skills learned at Wood Badge but also acting as a resource to the material and tools they need.

When (Time Based): Starting immediately after Wood Badge training and ending no later than 09/2021.

How (Specific-List the steps):
1. Identify the Troops in need.
2. Initialize a conversation with the Troops Key 3/Adult Leadership.
3. Identify Leadership concerns.
4. Train the leaders in Teach, Train, Lead method and provide related resources for them to teach the youth.

How Verified (Measurable): Via a set of survey’s provided to the Key 3 and Scout Leadership. As well as other material created for the goal.

The Result

To complete this goal, I did the following.

• I trained two Troops (Troop 177B and Troop 177G), using the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) as the bases of the program.
• Built a Binder Set for the Patrol Leadership Council (PLC)
• Took on and continue to hold the Assistant Scoutmaster (ASM) of Program for Troop 177B

As a Unit Commissioner I continue to advocate for Scout ran Troops and offer assistance in helping Scouts acquire the tools they need to be successful.

Goal: I am going to contact the Key 3 of four different established Units that currently do not have a female Unit, and approach the subject to see if they think that it maybe feasible to explore.

Who (Relevant): Existing Unit key 3 / possible female youth not currently being served.

What (Attainable): Assess the feasibility of new female Units. 

When (Time Based): ASAP >>> 12/2021

How (Specific-List the steps):
1. Contact the Key 3 of a established Unit and set a time to speak.
2. Communicate the need for a Female Youth Program.
3. Assist where needed if the Unit chooses to pursue.

How Verified (Measurable): Meeting minutes from meeting with Key 3 or Units Committee.

The Result

I am now working with Justin LoMonaco and Eric Worst as part of a team that is focused on recruitment in the Crossroads District.  As part of that group my focus is on assisting Troops and that will include the recruitment of Female Scouts.

Goal: Actively contact Troops and Packs I am assigned to as a Unit Commissioner and ensure that they have all the tools needed to complete their Charter.

Who (Relevant): Key 3 of Troops and Packs I serve as Unit Commissioner.

What (Attainable): Units charters make sure that the Unit is carrying out needed tasks to complete their Charter in a timely manner.

When (Time Based): Completion by end of January 2021.

How (Specific-List the Steps):
1. Contact Units Key 3
2. Inquire about the Units Charter and whether or not assistance is needed.
3. Provide all the assistance in my power to provide.
4. Offer to work with the Unit on JTE.

How Verified (Measurable): Email communications, call logs and commissioner visit notes.

The Result

During the 2021 and 2022 re-Chartering pushes, I actively worked with my assigned Troops and Packs to make sure that they were on the path to successful recharter and on time recharter.

Goal: Offer / Show interest in participation as a volunteer staff in two Council or District training events and assist where needed.

Who (Relevant): Council, District, Unit and Youth.

What (Attainable): Offer to act as a Volunteer in two training events.

When (Time Based): Complete by end of September 2021

How (Specific-List the steps): 
1. Research upcoming events where I can add value
2. Contact person or committee responsible for the event and offer to volunteer.

How Verified (Measurable): If accepted as a volunteer, I will provide evidence of the event.  If not accepted, I will provide evidence of communication.

The Result

I have participated in multiple events since completing the course where I informally participated in training.  I have also offered multiple times to participate in training courses, COVID has made this incredibly challenging.  In last year’s Crossroads Merit Badge College, I taught a course in being a Merit Badge Counselor and assisted both weekends where needed.   This weekend I will be teaching multiple parent sessions for Webelo Saturday where I will inform parents about the Merit Badge and Rank programs.  Additionally, I will be participating in the Crossroads Merit Badge College this May, where I will be teaching the Communications Merit Badge and The Merit Badge Counselor course.

Who (Relevant): Units and Youth outreach

What (Attainable): Create and gather resources for a recruitment training.  Provide and joint training/discussion on recruitment.

When (Time Based): By the end of December 2021

1. Contact Key 3 from each unit.
2. Inquire if there is interest.
3. Provide material and training.
4. Provide assistance as needed.

How Verified (Measurable): Created material, meeting minutes and training sign-in sheet.

The Result

I have created some material for presenting to troops and packs.  I have compiled recruitment links and other material to provide to units.  And as stated in Goal 2, I am now working with Justin LoMonaco and Eric Worst as part of a team that is focused on recruitment in the Crossroads District.
